Why ‘Don’t Click It, Pitch It’?
Stopping hackers is a team effort, just like playing sports. We don’t believe technology alone will help until kids and everyone are more informed.
- "Don't Click It" is the idea that we need to approach unknown texts and emails as malicious.
- "Pitch It" means to throw it away, tying it into baseball in a fun way.
Don’t Click Stats
- Children are 51 times more likely than adults to be victims of identity theft, according to a 2023 study by Carnegie Mellon University's CyLab.
- In 2022, some 1.7 million children fell victim to a data breach, meaning 1 in every 43 kids had personal information exposed or compromised.
- In 2022, one third of US teens and adults were hacked or scammed recently.
Our Mission
Hackers are everywhere in this day and age, targeting everybody. Anybody with a smartphone or computer access is at risk. Through emails or text messages, cyberattacks can access and steal sensitive personal information. That’s why it’s our goal to help everyone keep themselves and their loved ones safe.
Our Vision
By 2030, we want to teach over five million young adults how to spot hackers and avoid being victims of cybercrime. In the world of cybercrime, it’s one click and you’re out.
Our Values
We believe in a safe and secure Internet where everybody can browse without feeling like their privacy is compromised. Hackers threaten more than just our computers. They threaten our communities and our trust in each other. We believe in making sure our tech world is safer for everyone.
Remember!
- We believe safety is paramount in today's tech world
- We’re all about making sure our online chats and info are private and secure
- We believe in feeling confident, secure, and clear in what we do online
-
We want people to know the risks online and how to stay safe - instead of clicking it, pitch it...into a home run!
Our Cause Program Recipients
We are an all-volunteer organization. All we want to do is raise awareness by helping people learn the risks of cybercrime and have some fun along the way. If you wish to donate money, make your contribution on behalf of Don’t Click It Pitch It to our Cause Program advocates.
